Q. How can I figure out the size of a Wrist Mala?
A. Here are a few good rules of thumb for an average 6.5" wrist:
18ct Plain Fits Snugly
18ct Plain + Spacers is Slightly Loose
18ct Plain + Clasp is Slightly Loose
18ct Plain + Spacers and Clasp is Too Loose (so you should down-size to 8mm)
People with slight wrists might want to down-size to 8mm at the start for an 18ct Mala.

1 8mm Bead = 8mm
1 10mm Bead = 10mm
1 Spacer = 2mm
1 Marker = 8mm or 10mm
Guru Bead = 10mm
Clasp = 25mm
1 10mm Bead = 10mm
1 Spacer = 2mm
1 Marker = 8mm or 10mm
Guru Bead = 10mm
Clasp = 25mm
You can always measure your wrist and email me the circumference. We'll work together to get the wrist Mala to fit right.
Q. How many possible Malas can be created through this website?A. Well, let's see: 4 types of Bead Count x 22 possible Main Bead types x 23 possible Guru Bead types x 5 options for Spacers x up to 8 options for Markers x 2 options for Marker Off-sets x 16 possible options for a Tassel/Pendant x 6 possible Extension Beads x 2 options for a Clasp = approximately 621,772,800
possible Malas you can configure on this website :-)
Q. How long will it take for me to configure my Mala?
A. Some people can configure what they want rather quickly (within 5 minutes) because they have a good idea of what they are looking for. Quite often, though, I see users online for 1 or more hours configuring and re-configuring.
There is absolutely no limit to how long you are can re-configure your Mala(s). Sit back, put on some soothing music, and play around as long as you'd like.
Q. When will my Mala ship?
A. Your Custom Mala it will take about a week to ship but maybe longer and sometimes even less. If I need to order beads or other components I'll email you and let you know. Sometimes I include an Inventory Note on an item if I know I am waiting for something to come in. Once it ships you can expect it to arrive 2 or 3 days later depending (domestically) if you choose USPS Priority and 2 to 5 if you choose UPS. International takes longer and ships only via USPS Priority. I have had customers in Europe who have had to wait up to 20 days for their package to arrive! Once it does ship, though, I will send a "Your order has shipped" email. If you selected UPS I'll email you the tracking number.
I do offer an optional Expedited Service for those who absolutely positively need their Mala made and shipped today (or tomorrow at the latest). Please use this service with care and fairness in mind.

Q. How will my Mala ship?
A. I restrict my shipping methods to USPS 1st Class, USPS Flat Rate Priority, and UPS Ground for Domestic orders. I ship via USPS International Priority for non-US orders. USPS offers the best shipping rates but you can track step-by-step with UPS. Please note that USPS Priority Domestic and UPS are insured. USPS 1st Class is not insured.
USPS Priority International Small Box is not insured. If your International order was large enough to go beyond the Small box up to the Medium or Large, then it is insured.
Depending on the quantity of Malas you order your shipment will go out in either a Small, Medium, or Large box. The size of shipping box will be determined based on your order. If you need a shipping method that isn't listed above simply email me and we'll figure out the best way to get your order to you.
If, for any reason, you ship your Mala back for repair or modification I will re-ship it to you via USPS 1st Class Mail.
Special note on UPS- PLEASE make sure your shipping address is correct! If you supply an incorrect shipping address and ship via UPS, UPS will attempt to obtain a correct address so they can deliver your package. After obtaining the correct address UPS will bill me an $8.00 fee for this correction. If I am billed this $8.00 fee by UPS due to an incorrect address, you, the customer who supplied the incorrect address, agree to be automatically charged $8.50 for this correction service. I will debit the same credit card you used to make the original purchase. I will email you a receipt for the charge as well as the original Address Correction Notice I received from UPS.
Incorrect addresses shipped via the USPS will be returned to me. In this case the customer is responsible for purchasing new postage.

Q. What if my Mala breaks?
A. Please be nice your Mala :-). If you twist and wrench and pull and yank and contort your Mala too much it will break. With Malas strung on the 49ct wire please be sure not to force the Mala into an extreme angle or force it over your hand if it won't fit. The wire is strong but it does have a breaking point. You can exert an extreme amount of force on the wire if you bend or squeeze the Mala too much. When wrapping or folding the Mala please do not fold beyond the point where the Mala want to naturally stop.
Q. What if I have a special request?A. Simply contact me and I'll see how I can help you out! I do two or three Custom Custom Malas a week.
Q. What are my payment options?
A. The Store accepts three forms of payment:
1. Major Credit Card
2. PayPal
3. Cash
If you select "Cash" you'll need to mail your payment to me before I ship the Mala. I'll make the Mala and have it ready to go once payment arrives. By "Cash" I mean actual cash or Money Order from a US Bank (not a check).
If you select 'Major Credit Card' you will be directed to our SECURE payment form.
Q. What are your Malas strung on? What cord should I select?
A. My 108ct, 54ct, and 27ct Malas are all strung on .024" Steel Cord by default. This is the strongest beading material you can use yet is decently flexible. The 18ct is strung on Stretch Cord by default (to get over your hand) but you can switch to the Steel Cord by adding a Bar and Toggle Clasp or to a Sliding Knot.
There are plusses and minuses to both the Steel Cord and the Stretch Cord. The Steel Cord is very strong and will take a long long time to wear through but it will snap if forced into a severe angle. The Stretch Cord will allow you to bend and twist the Mala at any angle without snapping but it will eventually wear through. A great thing about the Stretch Cord is that with it you will be guaranteed that the Mala will fit snuggly around your wrist.
You need to assess the conditions you will be subjecting the Mala to and the ways you will be using it when trying to decide between Stretch Cord and Steel Cord.
I also offer Hand-Knotting on the 108, 54, and 27 Bead Malas. Hand knotted Malas will get loose over time- the beads will tighten the knots and become looser between the knots. If you plan on counting Mantra or will be fingering the beads a lot I recommend you go with the regular cotton/nylon cording.
I also offer plain cotton/nylon blend cording on the 108, 54, and 27 Bead Malas.
A note on "bead spacing"- when I string a Mala using the Steel Cord I try to leave between one and two bead spaces in slack. I do this so that the Mala can be wrapped and handled without snapping. Also, if you count mantras with your Mala this will allow for the beads to slide.
